Inga teaches graphic design at a community college in Copenhagen. She is planning to present a lesson about the use of patterns in design. Searching OER Commons, she locates a lesson plan on working with patterns. This lesson plan has been created for a mathematics course as well as different grade level, but many of the concepts target what she wants her students to learn.

After Inga checks the licensing to make sure she can modify the materials for her own use, she downloads the lesson, and modifies it to better meet her community college students’ needs. She decides not to change the language from English, but adds concepts that are unique to Danish design.

Inga’s students give her feedback on the activity and before sharing it back, she makes a few more modifications.
